A tense situation arose in the Vavuniya Township today subsequent to a rabid dog gnawing 34 victims within several hours.
Those who sustained injuries were immediately admitted to the Vavuniya General Hospital.
According to the spokesperson representing the Vavuniya Hospital the dog is suspected to have contracted rabies.
Those who were admitted to hospital are being treated for rabies.
